On the topic of squirrels, a couple nights ago I was chatting with an old yeshiva friend of mine and the topic of "his squirrel" came up. Our yeshiva's dorm had double windows, windows with two glass panes. One day we came back from seder to find that a squirrel had taken up residence in between the two panes. It had brought old newspapers and stuff as insulation, and was living between the windows. It lived there for quite a while as the yeshiva administrator was too lazy to hire someone to get rid of the thing. A couple nights before purim my whole shiur went to one of the mashpeims houses to farbreng, when we got back we had a surprise waiting for us. The squirrel had given birth! There were some five or six little squirrels living in that window! They lived there for about a week until the menahel gashmi finally had them removed. Thinking back, we actually never named the squirrel even though it lived with us for over two months. Hmmm....

Squirrels
Squirrels are adorable. yes, they are simply rats with tails, but they have this cute thing about them. Especially here on the west coast where the squirrels are gray. The black east coast squirrels are gross looking.

Ack! Why would he move it right after giving birth? Seems kinda weird.
ReplyDeleteI love squirrels. I don't want to touch them or keep them inside, but I love watching them outdoors. They are clever little things!
I love squirrels! I posted this video on my fb and all my friends commented on how weird it was but I particularly find their tails fascinating! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sMDmJ0NyFg
ReplyDeleteI think bunnies are much cuter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSFB2ytWJLQ
Lol. Their tails are pretty cool! Re bunnies... I dunno. Im not the biggest bunny fan. One of my neighbors actually has one. He lets it out every morning and it just wanders his front yard. Im shocked a cat hasnt eaten it!
DeleteI used to have two pet bunnies, they were the cutest! They are so cuddly and soft and sweet and an endless amount of positive adjectives can continue on here lol
DeleteI'm also shocked a cat hasnt eaten it! We used to let ours in our backyard. It would sometimes escape, that was really hard to catch! Just thinking of them makes me want to go into a pet store and play with some!
Us east coast people have black squirrels? We've got gray, too, and I think my neighborhood has one black rodent. I never saw a black one before that fella.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they are cute.
Hmmm. Maybe its just Toronto. That's the east coast city Ive lived in. They have only black.
DeleteBeing from Toronto, I was surprised to hear you say that there are no gray squirrels there! I haven't lived there for a few years, but pictures flit here and there across my mind and I thought that there are/were gray squirrels.
ReplyDeleteTurns out, we were both right. The same black squirrels that you find oh so unattractive lol (why?! I think all squirrels are equally adorable! :)), are gray and black; they go through phases apparently.
